About the Author
In recent years, Tom’s work life has centered around two activities: developing educational and promotional materials, and teaching, training and generally getting people excited about the world of computer graphics and
desktop publishing. His work as a Director of Materials Development for a division of the N.Y.C. Department of Health has been shaped by the agency’s varied communications needs. At the New School’s Computer Instruction Center, Tom has been teaching Illustrator, Flash, Photoshop and Quark classes. He also teaches at NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Over the last several years, he has also trained a variety of private clients, developed exercise materials and taught at the New York Mac User Group (NYMUG). Tom has served as an Adobe Beta Tester as well. Past accomplishments include a background in health care, an M.P.A. degree and several published written and creative works (e.g., a children’s book he wrote and illustrated: “Melissa on Parade,” Bradbury Press; a Princeton University Press Calendar featuring political cartoons he did; software review articles, and several other journal articles).
